Statistically having your baby at home is the safest place to birth. Since the early 1900′s birth has gravitated to hospitals and medical technology has become the norm. We all know the expression, “if it’s not broken don’t fix it”. Well that can apply here. Unfortunately, society as a whole has come to rely too heavily on medical intervention for normal, physiological functions such as birth. If we as a people have gone through 1900 years mainly birthing in the home and we’ve managed to survive as overpopulated, then something we’ve done must be right.
If you would like to explore these options you can expect everything from the homebirth class as you would a series class. I will cover interventions and cesarean birth so you can be aware of the jargon “just in case”. Most of the class will cover the normal process of what happens in the home. Having had 3 of my own that way and attending many others in the home will give you the opportunity to hear all angles.
